Voluma is an injectable used for plumping, volumizing, and supporting certain elements of the face. It is primarily composed of hyaluronic acid, which is a naturally occuring substance found in the body. Hyaluronic acid works by acting as a cushion and lubricant in the joints and other tissues.

How Much Does It Cost?
$750 per syringe
Typical patients receive 1 to 4 syringes per session

Who Can Get Voluma? Why Should I Consider It?

Voluma is a virtually pain-free, and highly effective face lifter and plumper. Voluma works well for all ages, but is typically used by people wanting plumper or better supported cheekbones. The treatment is mostly used by women and men in their 40s and later to increase a youth-like appearance particularly in the cheekbones.

Voluma can also be used in the temples to add volume. It works well for people who have “concave” or “indented” temples to fill them in. Voluma injections in this area help people appear younger. For individuals who have experienced great weight loss in their face, this treatment works well to tighten and volumize the face.

What Can I Expect From My Voluma Session?

Voluma is a fast, pain-free, and simple injectable. We recommend coming into Qwella for a free consultation before your treatment to determine the best amount of product to use. Each person is different, and each person will require different treatment. After we determine the correct amount of Voluma for you, all you need to do to prepare is ensure you don’t take any blood thinners like Ibuprofen at least 24 hours before your treatment. This will help prevent bruising and bleeding.

The actual treatment lasts less than a half hour, and we’ll take a short amount of time to chat with you before and after. You will feel a slight pinch from the needles during the injections, but afterward there is only a slight risk of the following:

  • Bruising
  • Redness
  • Red spots from the needles
  • Numbness
  • Swelling

People who use Voluma typically come in for treatments between a year and eighteen months.

After your treatment we recommend not rubbing, laying on, or pressing on the affected areas in any way for a few hours. After that point you are free to live your normal life!

Are There Any Risks to Voluma?

Because hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance there is little to no risk to using it. The acid’s purpose is to hydrate your body so you can feel safe knowing you won’t experience any negative side effects. There is also a small amount of lidocaine which will numb the treated area but will wear off within a day or so. If it doesn’t wear off within four days, please call Qwella and we can recommend the best course of action.
